During May this year, the BEFX covered their third Blue Week at the Only One Apnea Center in Sharm el Sheikh. Umberto Pelizzari, “freediving legend", direct from his Apnea Academy in Italy, conducted the Instructor Course in the warm waters in Sharm.

The course was attended by in excess of 35 Instructor candidates from all over the world. Blue Week covered the topics of relaxation, breathing, physiology of respiratory and ear systems, diet, techniques of communication, teaching methods, psychology and group control, with lectures given by expert specialists in each field. Furthermore the Apnea Academy teaching system, its standards, and the sequence of exercises were all covered.

Practical exercises included techniques of breathing and relaxation at the various levels, Constant and Variable Weight and group control in pool and sea. Students were shown videos of good and bad practical technique, and competitions. All students were filmed by BEFX in order to analyse their techniques and return home with a memento of the occasion.
