Instructor Course, Apnea Academy, Sharm el Sheikh (Egypt) with Umberto Pelizzari, event coverage, May 2010  Underwater camerawork

From  9th - 15th May 2010 at  the Only One Apnea Center in Sharm el Sheikh,  Umberto Pelizzari, Freediving legend, began his Instructor Course from the Apnea Academy.

There were in excess of 35 Instructor candidates from all over the world. The course covered the topics of relaxation, breathing, physiology of respiratory and ear systems, diet, techniques of communication, teaching methods, psychology and group control, with lectures given by expert specialists in each field. Furthermore the AA teaching system, its standards, and the sequence of exercises were all covered.

Practical exercises included techniques of breathing and relaxation at the various levels, Constant and Variable Weight and group control in pool and sea.

Students were shown videos of good and bad practical technique, and competitions. All students were filmed by BEFX in order to analyze their techniques.
