Dive Runner Safari

It was a long wait, but well worth it in the end.

Rachel von Nordeck, finally got her chance for her first safari of the season when she went aboard Dive Runner with Barry Thomson and headed out to sea for seven days.

The joys of taking a safari in the Red Sea include no crowds of divers and setting your own pace. The Austrian clients onboard were more than willing to allow Barry to design the dive schedule for them, so we happily settled into at three-dive-day with lashings of good food, sunshine and down-time between dives.

The diving was fantastic – with nary another diver in sight – and we were lucky enough to enjoy a dive at Jackson Reef with an oceanic white tip shark, (Carcharhinus longimanus); the company of a pod of bottlenose dolphins at Sha’ab Ali; and a variety of turtles, schooling fish and the clear waters of the Red Sea.
