Sara Campbell 96m Freediving Record!
British Champion freediver, 37-year-old Sara Campbell, has set a new World Record today - with just one breath she dived to a depth of 96 metres in the Constant Weight discipline.
The dive took just 3 minutes and 34 seconds and although light-headed on the surface, she successfully completed the surface protocol and secured a white card from the judges.

"This was by far the toughest World Record I've earned", Sara said.
"The emotional journey to 96 metres and back was just a formality compared to the emotional journey of losing my mum last year and struggling to dive in the most challenging conditions I've ever experienced. I have completed only 17 training dives since I became World Champion in November 2007 and I'm delighted to be back!"
Sara was being filmed on location in the Bahamas exclusively by underwater film company Blue Eye FX Productions. Based in Egypt and headed by British-born Deborah Metcalfe, Blue Eye FX Productions is making a new documentary for the Underwater Channel documenting Sara's journey to World Record status at Vertical Blue 2009 - the invitational freediving competition held at Dean's Blue Hole, Long Island, Bahamas.
